Though Viagra is more recognizable than Sildenafil, it’s the same drug… but is the generic as effective as the branded drug?
And the same goes for Cialis and Tadalafil too.
Here’s the deal.
The generic ED drugs, Sildenafil and Tadalafil, are the same active ingredients used in Viagra and Cialis.
It’s just that once Pfizer and Lilly ICOS, no longer held exclusive patents to Sildenafil and Tadalafil, other competing drugmakers can now also make them too.
But nonetheless, according to FDA, generic drugs, in this case, Sildenafil and Tadalafil, undergo a rigorous approval process whereby the generic drugmakers have to produce data and human trials that can prove its generic version is equally as effective and safe as the branded version.
Often this is done by having patients take both Viagra and Sildenafil at random days.
And patients need to report equal effectiveness, making both drugs indistinguishable to them.
However, that doesn’t mean that you should trust and buy Sildenafil or Tadalafil off any website.
Many online sellers (often outside the United States) are selling ED drugs not approved by the FDA.
So who really knows how safe or effective these drugs are?
So if you were to purchase Sildenafil or Tadalafil online, make sure the website you are buying from is reputable.
