Endothelium dysfunction and ED

Most men with erectile dysfunction don’t know it.

But the endothelium lining of your blood vessels may be why your male machinery isn’t functioning properly

And by restoring health back to this region of your arteries, it will go a long way to helping you overcome weak erections or a lack of them.

What is the endothelium lining and how does it cause ED?

The vascular endothelium is a thin layer of cells that makes up the lining of your blood vessels.

Though it’s just a tiny part of your artery, the vascular endothelium is critical for heart function… and healthy erections.

The vascular endothelium is what controls the dilation and constriction of your blood vessels.

It does so by producing nitric oxide, the chemical that signals arteries to relax.

In other words, nitric oxide is produced in the endothelium lining of your blood vessels, and  it controls the opening and closing of arteries in your penis.

It doesn’t matter how strong your blood flow circulation is, if your vascular endothelium isn’t functioning properly, blood cannot enter your penis.

Hence, you can’t get an erection.

The malfunction of the vascular endothelium is called endothelium dysfunction

Endothelium dysfunction

Endothelium dysfunction occurs when the endothelium lining gets damaged, which then impairs its function, causing all sorts of problems with blood moving through your whole body, including your penis.

The main culprit of endothelium damage?

Oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress are toxins that enter your body and end up attacking your endothelium lining.

These toxins enter your body through food, especially fast food, sugary food and alcohol, just to name a few.

Or through contaminants in our environment like pollution, tap water, or everyday products we use like shampoo, soap, lotion or shaving cream.

In other words, these toxins, or oxidative stress, are a part of our everyday lives.

Though we can limit our exposure by adopting a healthy diet.

We can never eliminate it.

And over time, it chips away at our endothelium lining like termites.

How to diagnose Endothelium dysfunction?

A test can be arranged with your doctor for diagnosis.

Common endothelium tests include the injections Adenosine and Acetylcholine.

The first causes your blood vessels to open, while the latter opens your arteries, at which point the volume of blood flow is measured.

How to protect or repair endothelium dysfunction.

You probably have heard health experts recommend a diet rich in fruits and green vegetables.

So much so, it sounds like a broken record.

But these same foods are drilled into your head over and over… for good reasons.

It’s because these foods are rich in nutrients and antioxidants that can protect against and eliminate oxidative stress.

And it goes a long way in helping restore a healthy functioning endothelium lining for better erections.

Such nutrients in richly and deeply colored fruits, as well as green, leafy vegetables, are packed with oxidative stress fighting antioxidants like …

  • Vitamin c
  • Magnesium
  • Coenzyme Q10
  • Flavonoids
  • Resveratrol
  • And more…

How to fix endothelium dysfunction to get an erection?

As previously noted, certain nutrients that are rich in fruits and vegetables play a big role in helping combat endothelium dysfunction.

Some of these same nutrients can be found in dietary supplements too, although dietary supplements should be part of a antioxidant, rich diet.

Drugs like Viagra and Cialis (Sildenafil and Tadalafil) can help you bypass the endothelium dysfunction that’s causing your erectile problems by helping the blood vessels in your penis relax (enabling an erection, but these are temporary fixes, not long term solutions.
